Once again our Stewart School Dancers make us proud as they compete at the Western Canadian Championships. 15 of our dancers made the trek to Calgary Alberta November 8th -11th to earn a spot at the World Championships to be held in Boston in March 2013 and the North American Nationals in Anaheim in July 2013. All 15 dancers gave it their all and represented Stewart School well.

Congratulations to our World Qualifiers, Jeff 1st boys U17, Grant 1st boys U16, Davey 2nd boys U10, Naomi 3rd girls U17 and Kaitlin 3rd girls U15. Joining these dancers at the North American Nationals in July 2013 are Kelsey 9th Ladies 20 and Over, Alysha 18th girls U13 and Lauren 19th girls U15

And lets not forget our own little Shaely Wallace who competed at the mini feis on Sunday the 11th wrapping up the weekend with a 1st place trophy in her beginner reel competition!

Once again Stewart school dancers show themselves well at competition. Seven of our dancers headed south to Vancouver Washington to compete at the annual Feile Samhain. The feis was held October 27th and 28th, 2012 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington.

World Qualifiers in Chicago!

Great results for Stewart School at the North American National Irish Dance Championship. This prestigious competition was held July 2nd through 7th in Chicago Illinois. Six dancers from the Stewart School made the trip to compete against world class dancers from not only Canada and the United States, but also from Australia, Great Britain and Ireland.

Congratulations Kari Wong, Jefferey Carandang, Naomi McCullough, Grant MacRobbie, Kaitlin Carandang and Alysha Carandang who represented Stewart School and Western Canada proudly.

Kaitlin Carandang set the stage for the week qualifying for the World Championships by recalling and placing 25th in the girls U15 A group. Followed by Naomi McCullough and Alysha Carandang who both recalled and placed in their respective competitions – Naomi 29th in the girls U17 A and Alysha 44th in the girls U14 A competition. We finished of the week with our boys both qualifying for Worlds; Jefferey Carandang placing 5th in the boys U17 and Grant MacRobbie placing 14th in the boys U16 groups.

The World Championships will be held in Boston in April 2013. These dancers will have a second opportunity to qualify at the Western Canadian Regional Championship held in Calgary this November.

Stewart School Winter Update

It’s been a busy few months for Stewart School dancers. Making us proud as they competed at the Western Canadian Championships, Dedanaan Feis and the Pacific Norhtwest Championships. We can’t forget the whirlwind of St. Patrick’s Day performances, where the black, pnik and green was seen in many locations through out Metro Vancouver.

Stewart School Dancers are heading to Edmonton for the Oireachtas. The Western Canadian Championships are being held November 4th and 5th, 2011 in Edmonton Alberta. The dancers have been working hard preparing for this prestigious competition. Good luck to all Stewart School dancers!

Another successful weekend at Dance for Life Feis

Several Stewart School dancers had a great time last weekend at the Dance for Life Feis, held at the Sea-Tac Marriott hotel in Seattle. Several of our Stewart School families travel down to this feis every summer, hoping to come back with a medal or trophy, but also just to spend time together hanging out and playing at the pool. As always this was a great feis! Congratulations to all of our attending dancers.
